Independence and disclosures
Where my interests are, and what that means for what you read here.
Why this page exists
ESA Growth Partners does two things. It advises education companies on selling into school choice programs, and it publishes analysis of those programs. Those sit next to each other on purpose: the analysis is what makes the advice worth paying for. They also create interests, and you should be able to see them before you decide how much weight to give anything here.
The claim I make
I am not neutral about this market. I work in it, and I want companies that serve these families to succeed in it.
So the claim is not neutrality about outcomes. It is discipline about evidence. What follows is how you can check that.
How the analysis works
Nothing published here is sponsored. Nothing is commissioned. No client sees an analysis before it is published, including an analysis that covers a state or a category the client sells into.
Every claim is built from public primary sources: statutes, administrative rules, program handbooks, agency data. Each analysis names the sources it rests on, and names the things it could not verify. Where a number is a program’s own reporting rather than an independent count, the analysis says so.
Nothing learned inside a client engagement appears in published analysis. What a client tells me is theirs.
Where my interests are
I run a consulting practice, and companies pay me to help them sell into these programs. Some of them operate in categories I write about. An analysis of a state or a program is never written for a client, but I am not a disinterested observer of this market, and this page exists so you do not have to guess about that.
Every engagement sets out conflicts in writing, in the statement of work, before any work begins. That is where the full picture goes, because that is where it matters most.
